My Pink Slip Story
My last year of undergraduate school went pretty well. I was planning on continuing to work at a store in the college town and hang out with friends for the next year as they still had schooling to complete. Everything was lined up and I therefore did not go looking for a career like most of the other graduates. Then the store I worked at was bought by a large food service company and they had different ideas about how to run the store. They decided that the only employees they needed for the summer were the older full time employees that had worked there for years. Any college student would not have a job for the summer. This ended up laying off about 2/3rds of the staff including myself.
My boss came to me one day and said the company decided to cut my hours. I said “that is fine, no big deal.” All along I was thinking they were only going to be cutting a couple hours not all of them. He said, “yeah, it is a big deal. After the 10th you won’t have any hours.” OH. The look on his face made a lot more sense now. I was now out of a job 1 week before graduation. Great. That pretty much put a damper on my plans to stay in the town and hang out with my friends. Since all the other graduates had been planning on either staying or leaving after they were done with school, most of the jobs in the town had already been snapped up. This led me to several ideas which didn’t pan out. (From biking (pedal bike) across the U.S., to living in PA for a summer, to moving to Denver.)
I then spoke with my Uncle and he said to move up to the town he lived in and he would let me stay at his place until I found a job and a place of my own. A good friend offered to drive me. He brought me half way, and then his car broke down. I had to call my Uncle to come get me and take me the rest of the way. This was a 7 hour trip total, so each of them drove me about 3.5 hours. My friend’s father happened to be in the town where his car broke down, so he had a ride home, but his Chevy Cavalier did not leave.
Fast Forward to now:
Now that I have experienced getting a pink slip, I don’t want that to happen again. So, here is my small business that I am creating at night. I am posting on my blog each step along the way, so if anyone else would like to make money from home at night, they can follow the steps for free and have just as much chance at success as anyone else.
One thing I was tired of is all the get rich quick scams and books and internet offers telling you to just buy their book or their program and you to can be rich. To me those guys were getting rich off the books and not off the actual ideas within the programs or books. This site is different in that I am posting actual results and showing how to set up everything. You don’t need to subscribe, you don’t even need to follow along. If you like you can wait until I have several posts done and then do them all at once or move at a slower pace. Everyone has different time frames and differing amounts of free time so this site should help a lot of people.
This small business will be setting up Product on Demand (POD) type internet based shops. This model requires little to no startup capital, little experience, and has potential to make some serious income. Time is about the only thing necessary to create these shops. I will go through a lot of different shops one by one and set up actual working shops along the way then work on promoting them all.
Join me and we can all make some money at home.
Note: if you subscribe to my feed you can get instant updates from the site
You can call me Slippy :) now lets get started.
P.S. - I have allowed comments on here so others can post their Pink Slip stories, hope to hear from you.
