Ok, you have signed up, and played around a little with Zazzle. Now lets fill out our profile.
Avatar:
If you don’t already have an avatar (those little pictures), then try and spend some time creating one. Here is a link to a very good post on what you should think about when creating an avatar.
After you log in to Zazzle, click on the My Account link at the top. This will bring you to the dashboard. The dashboard is going to be where we start from now on since we can see all the different tabs across the top from here.
Royalty:
The first thing I did was go to change the royalty settings. Under the “My Account at a Glance” there is a link for Default Royalty. I clicked it and then made the change as I saw fit. I simply typed in a number for the % and it calculated what a average sale and royalty would be.
Creating Designs:
What types of things can you create on Zazzle? Well, in many cases, the same stuff you created on CafePress - Tshirts, dog attire, hats, bags, etc. But there are also other options for you like Skateboard designs, Shoes, and Postage.
Go ahead and download the design templates / guidelines for the products you want to create. Some of these are going to be very similar to the CafePress templates, but others like shoes and skateboards aren’t available on CafePress so you will have to download these and see what the template looks like. If you recall, we used the same t-shirt template for many different products on CafePress. We can do the same here, we will just have to try stuff out and see what works.
Try and find the Guidelines / templates for your designs, if you can not find them, here is the link: Zazzle Guideline Files. I wanted you to try and find them first, because you will need to get the hang of navigating around and find things for yourself.
So that is where we are going to leave it today. Load an avatar, fill out your profile, download some templates/guidelines and work your way around the site a little.

How did you do? Have you created a shop? Let me know what it is.
