Adjusting designs on specific products
Last week I showed you how to put your image on a section of products and how to use 2 different images (one high, one centered) for the different products. You will also note that some of the products have the design running over the edge (like on buttons). We will remedy this now. Unfortunately this is a one-by-one type of operation, so I usually do it this one time, then use this as the new template (deleting the old blank one).
Select the section you want to work with. (click it)
Scroll down until you a design that just doesn’t fit correctly. (Usually a button or sitcker or clock).
Click it to edit it.
You will now see a page with the product & design on the left, and the design on the right and a drop-down box with options to reduce the size (Select image height). Choose a size in the drop down box, and it will adjust so you see how it looks on the left. If you want it bigger or small, adjust again, as many times as necessary. I usually start with the smallest “full bleed” option and go from there.
Once you are done, click the Done tab at the top (there are three tabs, Front, Product Information, Done)
That is it. Repeat for all the other products that fall off the edges of the product. Once you are done with this, you will now have a better template to use, so go back to your storefront where you see all your sections, and create a copy of the one you just edited. Doing this will save all of those size adjustments. This will be your new template, so keep it “hidden”.
That is all for this week since making these edits can be time consuming. They are well worth it for several reasons though:
- Present a professional shop (noone wants to look at a shop whose designs are all over the products and not lined up correctly)
- Designs available on many products (you would be surprised at what types of products people want. Putting the design on everything gives them a good selection w/o costing you much additional time.)
- Affiliate (other websites that get commissions to send traffice) will not link to your site if the designs are not on the products correctly.
Any other questions / concerns about adjusting the sizes?
